AFH Workshop: Hand splints for contracture and deformity prophylaxis in neuropediatrics

Our hands are essential!

They are a means and an end for us to experience, cope with and shape our everyday lives.
But perfect functioning cannot be taken for granted. Contractures or deformities in particular can severely restrict everyday function.

We present the

AFH-Workshop: Hand splints for contracture and deformity prophylaxis in neuropediatrics

Course content

Therapeutically, however, we have a means of counteracting contractures and deformities - by positioning the hand appropriately using a hand splint. But what should such a hand splint look like, what benefits can it bring, what do I need to make it myself in a short space of time and what does science have to say about it? The aim of this course is to enable you to make your own findings on patients. You will then be able to make an informed decision about the necessity of a hand splint and justify this decision to parents, doctors and cost bearers, and produce a hand splint yourself.
